Week 20
I love starting new things.  Sometimes I am a follower and sometimes a leader. Still, I always feel the weight of my responsibilities when I begin something new and face a new challenge. In 1 Chronicles 22 David gives his son Solomon the job of building the first Jewish Temple; talk about responsibility.

In this role, Solomon is both a follower and a leader. Following the direction of his father, David the King, he will lead the leadership team of Israel to complete the most important project they have ever done. In my work, I often follow the direction of my clients to lead their teams in projects that are important to their success.

In life, we all have moments when we are leaders and when we are followers. David instructs his son to act with understanding and discernment in his dealings so that his work will honor God. If we each do the same, we can be a walking testament to our faith without ever saying a word.

It reminds me of an instruction St. Francis of Assisi is said to have given his monks when he sent them out into the world. “Preach the gospel at all times; only when necessary, use words."

Verse for This WeekChronicles 1:13
Then you will have success if you are careful to observe the decrees and laws that the LORD gave Moses for Israel. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged.

Word
Success

I will go to silence experiencing what success feels like, what it looks like, and what it sounds like as I am filled with the discernment and understanding that leads to success in work and life.
