Week 21
The best thing I have gotten from daily devotion and meditation is the feeling of the presence of God. It has taken away that feeling I used to have of being all alone. Though meditation was common in the early church, it became a lost art for many generations somewhere around the 12th century. Before meditation, my prayers were a long list of what I wanted for myself and others. I never stopped to listen.
I can only speak for me, for my experience, but it is in the silence meditating on the Word that I hear God call my name. It is in the quiet where I can find divine guidance and peace. I would love to teach all Christian’s contemplative meditation. It is why I wrote my book, Contacting God: The Path to God through Prayer.
Verse for This Week
Isaiah 41:3
Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.

Today I will hear my name being called and feel what it is to be surrounded by unconditional love.
