Day 16
Election time is always interesting. As always, some of the races and some of the issues were hotly debated. People on both sides felt very strongly they were right. For those who won, there was a great celebration. Those who lost warned of dire things to come.

Shifts in leadership always bring about uncertainty. The same was true even back in the days of Moses. In Deuteronomy 31, Moses goes out to the people to announce that he is stepping down and Joshua will take his place.

He comforts those afraid of change. He knows that leaders come and go but throughout all, God stays steadfast. When our peace comes from God, then we have peace regardless of the outside circumstances. When our peace comes from ourselves, it falls away easily. True peace comes from our connection to the divine.

Verse for This Week
Deuteronomy 31:8
The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you;
he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.

Word Connection

Today as I sit in silence I will recognize my connection to the divine and rest in the peace that nothing will happen today absent of God’s divine guidance and love.
