Week 32
I went on a tour of lighthouses in North Carolina last year. There are hundreds up and down the East Coast of the US that have stood ready to provide their guiding light for more than a century.  Sometimes there are rocks in clear view and it is easy to see the danger.  Other times the danger can't be seen and following the light requires trust. Of course boaters can ignore the light and go their own way if they choose. The choice is made, however at their peril.

How like the Spirit of God that is. Through Spirit, there is a light to guide anyone who with the courage to follow. In Romans 8 we are instructed not to have a Spirit of fear, which I think means we should have a Spirit of courage to follow. However, we are not told what a Spirit of courage looks like.

I think a Spirit of courage trusts that all things work for good. A Spirit of Courage speaks when it would be easier to be silent and acts when doing nothing would seem safer. When someone acts from a Spirit of courage, they look for the light of Spirit to show the way, then follow the light where it leads.

Verse for This Week
Romans 8:15
For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father."

Word
Spirit

Today I will sit and consider the light of Spirit and how it shines in my life and cry Abba father.
